Mid Week Peek

Well, today is Wednesday and John and I decided to go ahead and do a little "Mid Week Peek", Don't tell anyonejust to see how things are going this week. John was the first to get onto the scales and he had lost 6 pounds since Sunday Surprised !! Can you believe it?! He now weighs 303.4.
WTG Honey!!
I then got on the scales and to my surprise I had lost weight too. Maybe not as much as John but I did loose 1.8 pounds since Sunday. I am now at 175.4 pounds Open-mouthed. I guess those ab classes and kickboxing is starting to pay off for me. I even got my youngest son to do kickboxing with me last night.

I have to go have a root cannal done today at 2:45, I am hoping I will be ok enough to just do a little something at the gym tonight, even if its a slow strole on the treadmill again.

Last Week

Well,  I didnt do so well last week as far as writting in my journal. So lets see if I can get caught up a bit.

We both worked out really hard last week. I went every day last week except Sunday. Even on Friday afternoon, when I was so sick I still went and walked really slow on the treadmill. I was determined not to break my resolution by not going and working out in some way. Now Sunday, I was in one of my bad (pitty party) moods and didnt really care if I went to the gym or not. John was out of town with his friends, working on their mud truck and I was at home all day alone. I really thought I would get up and go to the gym when they opened after lunch, but I didnt. Embarrassed I guess my bad day started when I woke up and got on the scales. I had gained 1.4 pounds. I just could not believe it. I had not cheated on my weight watchers, I had worked out everyday. Most days 2 times a day. and that cold, heartless machine had the nerve to tell me I had gained weight!  You know I went to 8 aerobic classes last week :Monday I went to Boot camp and Body Sculpting, Tuesday I went to ABS Blast and Kickboxing, Wed I did an hour on the eliptical machine, Thursday I went to ABS Blast and Turbo Kick and on Sat I went to Body Sculpting and "ABS"olutely Rock Bottom class and all of these classes are 30 to 45 min long, each. All I got to say is I better be seeing some muscles soon .

Now today is a fresh start ... No more negative thinking!! I woke up this morning and didnt want to go to the gym. John made me get up and go and for that I am very thankful. Cuz he was right...I do feel better after going, plus he bought me a strawberry smoothie for an after workout snack...Red lipsRed lips Thanks John.Red heartRed heart

John on the other hand lost 3.6 pounds last week. Now here is someone that is very determined to get into shape. He goes and works out 3 times a day, and it is starting to show! His belly is starting to get smaller, and his face is not round anymore. Open-mouthed. I predict that he will loose another 3 to 4 pounds this week. For me I predict a 2 pound loss.

Monday

Well today is monday and for some reason I was not able to get on to the windows live to journal yesterday or to even go to my own event "Sunday weigh in" so now that I can leave a note here it goes.

Yesterday morning when John and I woke up we weighed like on ever Sunday. John was a little worried that he had not lost anything last week. I told him with him working out 3 times a day and watching what you eat you have got to loose weight. well he got on the scales and he was almost right. He lost .8  lbs.  The first thing I did was look at him and said " what did you cheat on?" I know that wasn't very nice of me but it just came out. He assured me that he didn't cheat on anything. So we decided that since he has been doing so much weights at lunch he must of gained several pounds of muscle which weighs more than fat so the scales didn't show much. I also think the thing that is holding back his weight loss is the fact that he doesn't eat all his allowed points (weight watchers) along with working out so hard his body is wanting to hold on to all that fat ...survival mode. I guess. Any ways he has decided to eat more for breakfast and I packed a few extra points in his lunch to see if getting closer to his point goal daily will help the weight fall off.

I on the other hand am a little disapointed also. I worked really hard last week and I only lost 1.4 lbs. I know...I know. slow and easy and the weight will stay off. But I sure was looking for a 3 to 5 lbs loss. Confused.

This weekend we took it easy on the gym . Friday night we went out with some friends to Saltgrass steak house and shared a steak and we both had a saled and neither one of us ate any of that yummy bread they bring you ...free. Now that was hard, but since I saw that John wasn't going to have a bit I decided I better not too. He has helped me out a lot that way...I look to see if he is going to eat any then if he does...well I will too. After eating I was ready to go home and relax on the couch, but NOOOOOOOOOOO John said we need to go to the gym and run for a little bit. Not really in the mood I went anyways...didnt really have a choice he was driving. Wink Got there and started out on the treadmill and about 10 min into the exercise they come over the intercom and says that they will be closing in 10 min. THANK GOD !!! I thought to my self. But guess what they came up to our machines and said that they will be cleaning up for a while and if we wanted to stay and finish our workout we were more than welcome to stay. Thanks Lauren. But you know what after our 30 minutes was up I did feel better and was glad that John was there to push me to go work out. John is like my own "Bob".

Saturday we both had plans on things to do so we got up around 7 and went back to the gym for an hour of cardio.

Sunday John had plans with his friend to work on his mud truck so we did not go to the gym. I did a little exercises around the house (sit ups, push ups, mainly just stretches. We did go to our favorite place to eatsubway_header_logo.

Now today, Monday... We got up early and headed to the gym again. Today I just did 30 cardio and 30 min working on my butt area with differant weight machines. Then I headed to the sauna for 30 min to sweat and relax. They say that you can lburn 600 calories just by sitting and sweating. So I must of did pretty good this morning on burning calories. John did 45 min on the treadmill and then had to go get ready for school. He beat his goal this morning of trying to run for a whole mile on the 5.0 speed. He DID IT !!!  Way to go hunny.

Well, I need to go clean some house.

Jan 19,2008

Well, I havent journaled much...any, this week so I thought I should jot down a little about how the week went.

John has been working out 3 times a day for about an hour each time. He is lucky that he has a gym at his work and a couple of friends that have started working out with him. They lift weights together during their lunch time. I pack his lunch everyday so I know how many points he eats a day (weight watchers).

I have been working out 2 times a day. First thing in the morning John and I go to the gym for an 45 min cardio on the eliptical machine or treadmill. Then I go home to homeschool my youngest son. Then when John gets off work I meet him back at the gym, around 5:30 and I will either do a sculpting class or kick boxing class while he does some more cardio on the treadmill. I do NOT like the treadmill machines. They are too boring for me. Now I do like the eliptical machines and I can really go to town on them. But for me if I can do one or two classes then I burn so much more calories.

My goal next week is to go to the gym aourn noon also to do a little weight lifting to tone up a little more and to spend a little time in my little sactuary (the sauna). Then go take my son to football, go home clean house and then meet John again around 5. We will see.

Tomorrow is weigh in day for us, cant wait to see how much I have lost this week. Im feeling pretty good about it.

More tomorrow

Jan 16th

Well, we are really on a roll ! Once again we woke up early just to get a 45 min of moderate workout in at the gym. I was pretty proud of myself for running 2.52 miles on the eliptical machine, John ran about 1 1/2 miles (I think) on his eliptical machine(he has a blood blister on his heel from his shoes rubbing the other day, while he was running on the treadmill).

It is getting easier and easier to get up and go to the gym in the mornings. I am so glad that we decided to join the local gym, because I'm sure I couldn't (wouldn't) stick to this plan with the change in weather. Going to the gym we have no excusses not to go. I just love the way I feel when I'm finished with my workouts in the morning, it seems to really make my day go much better.

Well things are back to normal...I hope.
Last week John was out of state all week and I was worried that he would cheat on his eating, but he didnt and I'm so proud of him. He had it rough last week out of state. At the mill he went to they had doughnuts and brownies and cookies all for them to eat every morning and fresh sweets in the afternoon. But he passed them up Party. He lost a total of 10 lbs while gone.

I on the other had had it a lot easier. I worked out at the gym 2 times a day doing new cardio classes. Like: spin class, kick boxing and a hip hop class (by the way I am soooo uncordinated!) but I loved the classes. Let me tell you this in that hip hop class there started out with around 20 ladies in the class by the time the hour was up there was only 6 left and I was one of them Tongue out. I was determined not to give up. I just kept thinking to myself that Julian wouldnt let me quit if I was on the show...so quitting was not in my vocabulary. I lost a total of 5 lbs last week. Cant wait to go to class today (body sculpting and a boot camp, not quite sure what that is but cant wait)

Jan 4,2008

Well, I lied yesterday. I did not go and workout at lunch like I really thought I would when I wrote it. After I got home and our heater was broken, all I did was lay around bundled up in a blanket. I did go back that afternoon and work out with John and my son Thomas (which really surprised me by running 3 miles in 45 min. Then he went with his dad to the sauna for 30 min and sweated some more. Anyways we did work out for 45 min pretty hard on the eliptical machine. We had subway for dinner.

Today we got up on the first call of the alarm clock. Me so sore I could hardly roll over to get out of bed, John on the other hand acts like he isn't hurting at all. Tonight we have a persoal trainer to work with us on the weights. I cant wait. I'm getting tired of the eliptical machine. Now we did do the tread mill this morning at a little slower pace than yesterday. I am feeling pretty good right now, I hope I can keep the energy going all day long.

Well more later

The beggining

Hey, Today is really day 3 of our weight loss program.
We have decided to not try to reach a certain weight goal, but to eat healthier and exercise every day. Here is what we have done so far:Tongue out
 Jan 1,2008
while still celebrating New Years John and I decided to drive down to the lake (acout 2 miles away) and walk around the camp grounds. We did this for about 30 min. We decided not to push it the first week or so. So we wont burn out so quickly, and it was so dag-gum cold outside I could hardly stand it. After walking we went back to my sister/brother-in-laws lake house to watch the Arkansas Razorbacks play in the bowl game. While watching the slaughter everyone around us was eating cheese dip, cocktail weinies w/bbq sauce, saute shrimp and drinking cokes. We did partake in a few weinies and John had a little cheese dip but not as much as we would have if we didnt start this New Years Resolution. We did eat about 1 cup of black eyed peas...after all we do want to make money this year along with looking and feeling better. After the game we drove back to Louisiana where we didnt do much except watch tv (Biggest Loser Couples) and then got ready for bed.
Jan 2,2008
We got up early and exercised in the living room for 30 minutes using weights and the exercise ball. There really wasn't alot we could do in our little livingroom, ceilings are to low to do anything over your head, and it was 24 outside. We also did a few sit ups before John had to go to work. I fixed Johns lunch while he was getting ready, we are using the WeightWatchers program for our eating. After John left the only exercise I got was doing laundry and cleaning up the house from the holidays...which kept me busy most of the day. After John got home we went for a 30 min walk around the neighborhood. We have a nice safe place to walk in our neighborhood so we will walk quite abit when the weather is right. After walking we came in and ate dinner. After that we went to the local health club (Drew LaBlanc Elite Fittness) and decided to open a membership for our whole family, we did not do anything while there but look around and sign up. But our son Drew went and worked out for about 1 1/2 hrs.
Jan 3,2008
We set our alarms for 5:00. John rolls over and hits the snooze, but 7 minutes later when he rolls over to hit the snooze I had already rolled over in his spot so he couldnt lay down again. So we drove to the gym to do a 30 min eliptical machine workout, before John had to go to work. I went and sat in the sauna while he was taking a shower and getting dressed. We plan on going back tonight after John gets off from work, before he has a chance to sit down and watch TV. I will probably go back at lunch and do an hour on the eliptical machine, just to get a little cardio in. John and I are acting like we are on the Biggest Loser show and I am determined to lose a bigger percentage than him !! Which will be hard considering he has more weight to lose.

I will be posting pics (before pics) later tonight after I take one of John. Man this will be imbarrising!!! Well until something else happens...
Eat smart

Julie, Thank you so much for your support today! Your emotional hug really means a lot. I was having a hard time seeing out my hole last night, but like you said, today is a new day. I've gotten back on plan and have been doing really well. I went to bed feeling terrible about myself, and with the support you've extended towards me, am now feeling much better. I'm glad we are in this together! Remember that if you ever have a day like mine, or need any other kind of support, let me know! Thanks so much!
